Privacy Policy
What we collect when you apply, book a call or simply read the site — how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Who we are, and what this covers
Dubai Tech Experience is a delegation programme operated by Ghani Events (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy explains what we do with personal information when you visit this website, apply to join the delegation, book a call with us, or take part in the programme around GITEX GLOBAL 2026.
It does not cover the sites and services of other organisations we link to, or the event organiser, venue, hotels and suppliers you may deal with directly. Those have their own policies.
Information we collect
What you give us
Most of what we hold, you typed into an application form or told us on a call. Depending on the track you apply for, that usually includes:
- Your name, email address, phone number and country.
- Your organisation, your role in it, its website and its stage or sector.
- The role you are applying in — founder, investor, ecosystem partner, sponsor, government official or student — and the answers to the questions that follow from it.
- Context we need in order to make useful introductions: what you are building or looking to back, what you want out of the week, and who you would like to meet.
- Practical details once a place is confirmed — the information needed to register your delegate badge and to coordinate travel, accommodation and the on-the-ground programme.
- Anything else you choose to send us, including pitch materials, logos and correspondence.
What we collect automatically
This site is a set of static pages, so it does not build a profile of you as you read. Our hosting and content delivery provider keeps standard server logs — IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, the pages requested and the time — which are used to deliver the site securely and to diagnose problems.
What we get from others
We may receive your details from a partner, accelerator, ambassador or colleague who refers you, and we may look at public sources such as your company website or a public professional profile to understand an application. We do not buy marketing lists.
Sensitive information
We do not ask for sensitive categories of personal information, and you should not send them to us through the forms on this site. Where the programme genuinely requires something like a dietary or accessibility requirement, we will ask for it separately, use it only to make the arrangement, and keep it no longer than the event needs it.
The forms and tools this site uses
Two third-party services do the work behind the buttons on this site, and it is worth being specific about them, because your information goes to them directly rather than passing through us first.
- Application forms. Every application form on the site is an embedded form served by our customer relationship management platform. When you submit one, your answers are recorded in our CRM account, which is where we manage applications, notifications and follow-up. The embedded form is loaded from that provider and may set its own cookies in your browser.
- Scheduling. Our “schedule a call” links open a third-party booking service. If you book, that service records the details you enter and shares them with us so the meeting can go in the calendar.
Both providers act as our service providers: they process the information on our instructions in order to provide the service to us, and they are also subject to their own privacy terms.
Needs confirmation. The reviewed version should name both providers explicitly, link to their privacy policies and, if the client adds analytics, advertising or chat tools to the site later, list those too. It should also carry a cookie inventory once one has been measured on the live site rather than assumed.
How we use your information
We use what we hold to:
- Assess your application and decide which track fits, and tell you the outcome.
- Curate introductions and meetings — which necessarily means sharing a short profile of you with the people we think you should meet, and theirs with you.
- Deliver the programme: badge and exhibition registration, the delegation schedule, on-the-ground support, and coordination with suppliers.
- Communicate with you about your application, your place and the event.
- Send you occasional updates about the delegation where you have asked for them or where we are permitted to — always with a way to stop.
- Improve the programme and this website, keep them secure, and handle complaints.
- Meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Our legal bases
Where data protection law requires a legal basis — for example if you are in the UK or the European Economic Area — we rely on the following:
- Performance of a contract, or steps you have asked for before entering into one: assessing your application and delivering a confirmed place.
- Legitimate interests: running and improving the delegation, curating introductions, keeping our systems secure, and contacting professional contacts about a programme relevant to their work — balanced against your interests and rights.
- Consent: where we ask for it, such as certain marketing messages or non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: where we have to keep or disclose records.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and the delegation travels to Dubai, UAE, so information you give us will be processed in the United States and, for the parts of the programme that happen on the ground, transferred to the United Arab Emirates and to suppliers there. Data protection law in those countries may differ from the law where you live. Where a transfer is subject to UK or EEA rules, we will put an appropriate safeguard in place, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it for, and then for as long as we have to for legal, tax or accounting reasons.
In practice that means: application details are kept while we assess them and, if you are unsuccessful or defer, for a reasonable period afterwards in case you apply to a later edition; records of a confirmed place, including invoices, are kept for the statutory retention period; and marketing contact details are kept until you ask us to stop.
Needs confirmation. The reviewed version should state actual retention periods in months or years for each category. We have deliberately not invented figures.
How we protect it
This site is served over HTTPS and, being a static export, holds no database of its own — applications go straight to our CRM rather than sitting on the web server. We restrict access to applicant records to the people who need it, and we require our providers to maintain appropriate safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but if a breach affected you and the law required it, we would tell you and the relevant regulator.
Your choices and your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
- Have inaccurate information corrected.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer have a reason to keep.
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing — including direct marketing, at any time.
- Receive information you gave us in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent where we relied on it, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will respond within the time the law allows, and we may need to verify who you are first. We will not treat you differently for asking.
If you are in the UK or the EEA and think we have handled your information badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority — though we would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
U.S. state privacy rights
Residents of U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws, including California, have rights to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, to request deletion or correction, and to appeal a refused request. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. To make a request, email [email protected]. An authorised agent may make a request on your behalf where the law allows, with proof of authorisation.
Children
This site and the delegation are aimed at business and professional audiences and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices change — and, first of all, when the reviewed version replaces this draft. The version published here is the current one. Where a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you directly rather than rely on this page.
Contact us
For anything to do with privacy, or to make a request about your information, email [email protected] or call (480) 247-0223. If you would rather talk it through, you can book a call with the team.
A postal address, the full legal entity name and — if one is required — a data protection representative will be added when this document has been through review. We have deliberately not guessed at them.
